Creating Sources, Stock Classes and Categories in Levridge Patronage and Equity
To get started in Levridge Patronage start with setting up Sources and Categories.
Sources
A source is a sub-entity of the current admin’s organization. If the current organization merges with or acquires another organization, they may not pay out the other organization’s patronage when they acquire the source, but they need to track it and pay it out at some point.
Important note – the current/primary organization needs to be set up as a Source. Sub-entities can be optionally set up, but the current organization has to be.
To create a source:
- In the main menu choose Sources, click the + sign to add a new source.
- Fill out the information that is asked for in the General Info dialog. The only required fields in the dialog are the Name, Share class, Erp system, Per unit retains, Minimum payout threshold, Maximum dividend percent.
- In this same dialog, under the Retirement Settings tab, enter the retirement settings for the source organization.
- Click Save
Stock Classes
Once any source has been created, the Stock classes button becomes enabled. Click it and add a system-wide stock class by doing the following:
- In the Stock Classes form, click the + sign to add a new stock class.
- In the Create Share Class dialog, enter a Name, Description, Minimum Buy-In, a status of Active or Inactive and whether or not the stock class is an equity only stock class.
Categories
Categories are the organization’s goods or services that group transactions and enable multiple allocation calculations. If you use different accrual rates for different goods and services, you need to set up each category that has an alternate rate along with the main accrual rate.
Important note – You will need to have at least one category in order to assign transactions to members.
To create a category:
In the main menu go to Categories, click the + sign to add a new category.
Enter the Name and Description and if the category has a unit of measurement mark that and choose the unit. If you do not mark the Use unit of measure toggle, the assumed unit is in dollars.
