Commodity Accounting

FeatureRelease Notes
Additional Discounts on Sales and Purchase ContractsHistorically on purchase and sales commodity contracts the only way to have the system automatically assess grade discounts on scale tickets is through the discount schedule selected on the contract. However, there are times when a contract has a different discount needed on a one-time basis or it is variable from contract to contract.

In earlier Levridge functionality you would have to create a new discount schedule for the contract or remember to apply the discount manually at the time of settlement.

Now the user has the option to add one or more discounts directly to the contract which will be automatically calculated when the ticket is applied. The discount will not calculate shrink, but it calculate and apply a discount or premium. You can find the ‘Additional discounts’ grid on the contract header view.
Commodity Contract Terms (Contract Notes)Provides the ability for the organization to define terms (Commodity accounting > Setup > Contracts > Contract terms) that can be selected on purchase and sales contracts.

The selected terms can be printed on contracts and copied when a new contract is generated from the existing (if the contract term is still active).
Direct Ship Order Adding to Weights and Grades with Generated TicketsExtending the direct ship order functionality from 2026 R1, weights and grades can now be applied to an order line that already has generated scale tickets.

In the scenario that origin weights and grades were available when the tickets were generated, and now destination weights and grades have been provided. The user can add the new information without having to recall and re-generate the tickets to do so.
Import Direct Ship Order LinesIn 2026 R1 Levridge provided the ability to maintain direct ship orders and now with 2026 R2 you have the ability to import weights, grades, and other scale ticket information generating the direct ship order lines.

The user has the option to download a template from the direct ship order form using the option ‘Order line template’ found in the action pane. Then when the information is entered in the spreadsheet, they can import the information by using ‘Order lines’ in the Import group on the Direct ship order action pane.

Mass Apply Sales Contract to Order LinesIn some sectors of the agriculture industry customers place orders in advance and as they are shipped the accounting department selects which sales contract to apply to the order. These orders are not linked to a scale ticket but entered and maintained in sales order entry.

The new “Sales order application” form is available under Commodity accounting > Outbound > Delivery) and allows the user to view the sales order lines for commodity items that are not yet applied to a sales contract enabling them to apply one or multiple order lines to a sales contract at one time.

The user can also view applied uninvoiced lines which enables them to unapply the selected sales contract on one or more order lines.

Post Freight Accrual by Ticket Freight DetailLevridge already provided the ability to accrue freight through a reversing entry from the freight invoicing form.

The option ‘Accrue freight per ticket’, which you can enable in commodity parameters, enables the user to manage freight accruals from a new form ‘Freight accruals’ (Commodity accounting > Freight > Freight accruals).

The accrual must be posted manually. Once the accrual has been posted for a scale ticket freight bill, it will reverse when the freight bill is invoiced or closed. If a freight bill is partially invoiced, the system will reverse the portion of the accrual that has been invoiced.
Report Option on the Long/Short Hedge Report to Only Display the Basis Contracts that Do Not Have a Board PriceThe long and short hedge position report has 2 main sections: Priced and Basis. The basis position section to date has displayed sales and purchase contract information when the contract has a basis value (even if it also has board).

The new report option “Exclude fully priced in basis position” is available which if set to Yes the basis section will only provide data for contracts that only have a basis value.
Sales Contract XML Extract is Missing Some Information Needed for IntegrationNew information is available in the sales contract XML export functionality (through business events).
Settlement Deferred Premium Calculation Based on DaysA new fee calculation type ‘Deferred percent of price’ is available on the Fees and charges setup form (Commodity accounting > Setup > Discounts & fees > Fees and charges). When the fee uses this calculation type, the system will calculate the deferred premium applied to the settlement as ((fee percent/365) * number of days * net amount).

The number of days is determined by the start and end dates provided on the settlement (which default to the settlement date as the start date and end date as the deferred payment date). The “net amount” is either the (gross amount less discounts) or (gross amount less discounts and fees).

The option on the fee setup form ‘Include fees’ determines which will be used. There is another option available in the fee setup for ‘Date adjustment’, which will add (positive value) or reduce (negative value) the number of days used in the calculation.
